Because of its exceptional air quality and sunshine, Leysin, as of 1892, sees thousands of tuberculosis patients come from around the planet. During the next 50 years, the original village of 400 inhabitants will expand incredibly to include 70 clinics and sanatorium. At its height in the 1930s, it will count close to 6000 resident of which 3000 are TB patients attented by 300 nurses and 50 doctors... This village of the Vaudois Alps will become international in scope, a quality it retains to this day.
