Ernst Beyeler has been dealing in art since 1947 and has put together an impressive collection for which, in 1997, he created a public viewing space, the Fondation Beyeler. In this documentary film Beyeler talks about complicated deals relating to works by modernisms greatest artists.
He also introduces us to works which he removed from the market despite the prospective profits. Personalities from the international art world and close friends attest to one of the last great art dealers from an epoch when that profession went hand in hand with a personal dedication to art.
