They are taking their son, who is the brightest of their eight children. From Izmir they travel to Genoa with a freighter. In Italy they are taken by smugglers to the Alps and sent on towards Switzerland, despite the snow and the cold. Father and son are separated from Meryem. Will anyone reach the land of promise?
