In a dystopian Switzerland that has fallen under the fascist rule of a cheese magnate, Heidi lives as a simple young woman in the Alps. Heidi, a five-year-old orphan, lives with her grandfather in the Swiss mountains. Her happiness ends when her aunt Dete takes Heidi to Frankfurt, where she is to help take care of a sickly child, Klara.
