André Polonski, piano virtuoso, and Mika Muller, CEO of the Muller chocolate company, remarry after a first and very brief union many years before. André had then married Lisbeth, with whom he had had a son, Guillaume. One day, at Mika's on their way through Switzerland, Lisbeth is killed in a car accident. The young Jeanne Pollet learns incidentally that she had narrowly missed being switched

The young Jeanne Pollet learns incidentally that she had narrowly missed being switched with Guillaume on the day of her birth. Searching for her origin and a mentor, Jeanne insinuates herself into a family which is not her own.
