André Polonski, piano virtuoso, and Mika Muller, CEO of the Muller chocolate company, remarry after a first and very brief union many years before. André had then married Lisbeth, with whom he had had a son, Guillaume. One day, at Mika's on their way through Switzerland, Lisbeth is killed in a car accident. The young Jeanne Pollet learns incidentally that she had narrowly missed being switched with Guillaume on the day of her birth. Searching for her origin and a mentor, Jeanne insinuates herself into a family which is not her own.
